When will Better Off Dead be published?
No information is currently available regarding this, but given previous publications, it is likely to be at least 2020 before the play is published.

When and where can I see Better Off Dead?
Although Better Off Dead has been confirmed by Alan Ayckbourn as his 82nd play, no further details are currently known. It is expected the play will premiere at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, during 2018.

Is Better Off Dead a rewrite of his unproduced play A Case Of Missing Wives?
No, A Case Of Missing Wives is a police procedural written in 2016 and intended to be the playwright's 81st play - it was instead replaced by A Brief History of Women. Alan then wrote Better Off Dead during spring 2017 recycling two of the characters from A Case Of Missing Wives, which had been shelved. Despite the presence of the two characters, there are no other similarities between the two plays which have completely differently plots.
